
Summer Retreat and Harvest Festival
Every year from early summer until autumn the "Harvest Festival" and the "summer retreat" of the Südtiroler Gasthaus group is celebrated. From the end of June until late autumn the members of the Südtiroler Gasthaus group conjure up unique dishes from the freshly harvested products. These authentic creations reflect the variety of South Tyrolean autumn delicacies.

Kastelruth in South Tyrol
Kastelruth is one of the most beautiful and attractive tourist centre in South Tyrol. The main village of the Schlern area is located at an altitude of 1,060 m. It is not only home of the famous music group Kastelruther Spatzen but also offers diversified recreation and leisure programmes, activities and events for every age group at all seasons. This idyllic, traditional village is always worth a visit!
The country
The South Tyrolean Wipptal (valley) reaches as far as Franzensfeste in the south, continuing into the Eisacktal (valley) which reaches over Brixen and Klausen and nearly as far as the capital Bozen. Kastelruth is located on the low mountain range plateau that is east of the Eisacktal (valley). Especially diversified active holidays made easy. Riding, playing golf, paragliding, hiking, climbing, biking, rafting and much more.
In winter, numerous skiing areas invite you to go skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and cross-country skiing.

Castle Tyrol
...ione of the most important castles in Tyrol. Built between 1140 and 1160 by the Earls of Vinschgau, who call themselves Earls of Tyrol for the first time in 1140. This castle is a must when you visit South Tyrol.
The Aichach Ruin
...from the 12th century. Until 1741, the castle was owned by Kastelruth. The nearby Pflegerhof is also worth a visit especially because they produce and sell their own tea varieties and herbs.
The Hauenstein Ruin
...is located at the foot of the Santnerspitze and was built by the Lords of Hauenstein in the 12th century and increased in the 15th and 16th century. You can easily reach this ruin from Seis on the beautiful hiking trail number 8.
The Salegg Ruin
...is not too far away from the Hauenstein Ruin in the Hauensteiner forest. You can only see some sparse remains of the once proud castle; nevertheless, it is worth a visit.
Castle Prösels
...was built between 1490 and 1520. It is a typical barrage of the time when Maximilian I was emperor. The courtyard has a late Gothic freestanding castle chapel. You can marvel at beautiful frescos and ornaments in the halls of the castle.
The Trostburg
... can be reached (also by foot) via Tisens and Tagusens on the trail number 1. The Trostburg is a castle, dramatically located above Waidbruck with halls that are worth seeing.
The Hexenstühle
...are two strangely formed rocks in the shape of chairs in the forest above Kastelruth. This place is not only unique because of its geological and prehistoric strangeness but it is also of unique beauty and a great viewpoint.
The gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
...are a wonderful trip for everyone who loves nature, plants and flowers. 60,000 bulbous plants like tulips, daffodils and grape hyacinths reflect the colours of spring. In the world of cactuses, in the palm garden, in the house of orchids and at the water lily pond you can admire many different kinds of plants.
Ötzi's story
...can be learnt about in the archaeological museum of South Tyrol. Many interesting models, pictures, reconstructions, videos and interactive multimedia stations give you a thrilling insight into the life of the iceman and into the early past of the southern alpine area.
